Change user name
A one time option to change the user name of account should be given. I had created this account childishly but it’s a bit inappropriate. A one time option would let people with same issues update their names as well.

You can close your account and create a new one (since it’s new anyway), however change username is not possible for the moment.

From the signup page, as of 11 November 2022:
> Make sure to choose a family-friendly username. You cannot change it later and any accounts with inappropriate usernames will get closed!
One of the technical reasons: the username is the _id field as well in the MongoDB user document, and MongoDB doesn’t allow _id to be changed.

Completely changing your name.
Hi guys,
I think that lichess really needs to make it so that you can completely change your name. For example, my profile name (@Fischer_and_Chips88) was quite funny at first, but now, after 5000+ games and about 8 months of lichess i have decided i want to completely change my name because the name kinda of makes me look stupid.
I am sure many of you would understand that making a new account would not be great as i would lose my amazing, juicy 5000+ games which i have spent quite a lot of time on. I am also pretty sure that lots of you would like this change to because i see some pretty cringe worthy names.

I will give the instructions for how to do this from a computer:
Click your username in the top right corner.
Click «Preferences.»
On the left hand side, you will see a list of options. Near the middle you will see «Change username.»
I’m sure you can figure out the rest yourself 🙂

@Pr0crustes Completely change your username, not the weather it is lowercase to uppercase.
i.e: Pr0crustes to pR0CruSteS is allowed because i am only changing the caps, however, Pr0crustes to Chessplayer123 is not allowed.
I want to be able to completely change my name. I am sure many others would agree.

Good day, managers of the site lichess! There is a problem that you can solve. The name of our team has the letters of a well-known brand: Russian Railways. Top managers are not happy that we use it. It’s not possible. You can however create a new team and request a moderator to delete your old one.

Не грузится начало партии, помогите советом.
Для тех кто не знает как сменить язык (допустим @lovegoood ) это делается так . Нажимаете на ник в правом верхнем углу . Так выскочит окно , нажимаете Язык , и первая строчка написано English , нажимаете , и сайт начинает работать полноценно.
А где в «Настройки» переключение языка.. не нахожу

@grifoman сделай язык в настройках «английский» и тогда все будет нормально. Будешь видеть сообщения и сможешь создавать игры
